Installation of Registers and Grilles

Installation of floor registers and grilles is a simple process. The only tool needed is a tape measure.

  1. To begin, remove the old register or grille from the floor. Measure the old grille and size by using How to Measure Grilles.
  2. Purchase the correct grille. The old saying measure twice and purchase once will save you money and time. Use the selector guides on our website and pick the style you like.
  3. Simply place the vent into the opening and make sure it goes into the hole all the way.
    1. It is very important that you never leave the duct opening without a register or grille. If someone steps into the opening they can be seriously hurt.
    2. If you have to modify or straighten any ductwork make sure you use the proper tool and gloves. Sheet metal duct work is very sharp.
